Does Roomie work with older Honeywell Wi-Fi thermostats from Total Connect Comfort?
In short
Not at the moment. Honeywell shut down the service Roomie originally used, so Roomie now connects through Honeywell Home (Resideo). Thermostats that only work with the older Total Connect Comfort app and website, such as the RTH9600WF, can't be reached that way. Newer models such as the T5, T6, T9, T10 and Lyric Round are supported.
Why older models stopped working
Honeywell retired the developer service behind Total Connect Comfort. Roomie moved its Honeywell support to the current Honeywell Home (Resideo) service, which covers Honeywell's newer thermostats. Honeywell's older Wi-Fi generation, including the VisionPro 8000 Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi 9000 and RTH95xx/96xx models, stayed on the older service.
How to check yours
If your thermostat appears in the Honeywell Home or Resideo app, add the Honeywell cloud service in Roomie and sign in with that account. If it only appears in Total Connect Comfort, Roomie can't control it today.
Options for now
A current Honeywell Home thermostat works with Roomie, as do Ecobee, Google Nest and HomeKit thermostats. We're tracking requests for the older models, but we haven't committed to supporting them.
