Why does my Activity tile only ever start, and never run its On Stop commands?
In short
The Activity is set up as a one-shot button rather than a toggle, or its tile was added as a plain Activity card. Turn on Remember On/Off State in the Activity editor. Then remove the tile from the Room Layout and add it again from the Scenes & Toggles section, so each tap alternates between On Start and On Stop and the icon shows its state.
Button vs. toggle
An Activity with On Stop commands can behave two ways. As a toggle, it remembers whether it's on, and each tap alternates between On Start and On Stop. As a button, every tap runs On Start and the On Stop commands never run. Curtains, shades, and lights that you open and close from one tile need the toggle behavior. When you first add On Stop commands, Roomie asks "Toggle or Button?". Choosing Button there causes exactly this.
Step 1: turn on Remember On/Off State
Go to Settings › Activities, open the Activity, and turn on Remember On/Off State. If the switch already shows on, turn it off and back on, then save. That stores the setting explicitly, which matters for older Activities and for copies.
Step 2: re-add the tile from Scenes & Toggles
A tile keeps the type it was added with. A tile added from the Activities section always runs Start and never changes its icon, even after the Activity becomes a toggle. Edit the room's layout, remove the tile, choose Add to Layout, and pick the Activity from the Scenes & Toggles section.
Duplicated Activities
A copy made with Duplicate Activity from an older toggle can show up under Activities instead of Scenes & Toggles in the layout picker. Do Step 1 on the copy first, and it will then appear in the right section.
Long press still offers Stop
If the tile's long-press menu shows Stop and that works, but a plain tap only starts, Step 2 is the fix. The Activity is fine, and only the tile type is wrong.
