Send Feedback from the app

Settings Send Feedback

It opens an email to us from your device. For an import, a missing title or anything about your data, choose Include Library Backup so we can see exactly what you see. Settings is the gear button in the library toolbar.

Account and sync

Do I need an account?

Yes, but there’s nothing to set up. FilmVault uses Sign in with Apple, so there’s no password, and Hide My Email works. Your account keeps your collection in sync across iPhone, iPad and Mac.

My collection isn’t showing up on another device

Make sure both devices are signed in to FilmVault with the same Apple Account. Open Settings (the gear button) and look under Account: it shows when the library last synced, or a sync error. Refresh Library from Server pulls a fresh copy.

What happens when I sign out?

Signing out removes your library from that device, and it comes back when you sign in again. If the device has changes that haven’t reached your account yet, FilmVault warns you first.

How do I delete my account?

Open Settings and choose Delete Account. It permanently deletes your account and your entire library, on the device and on FilmVault’s servers. Backups in your iCloud Drive are kept, and your purchases stay with your Apple Account.

Purchases

How do I restore a pack I bought?

Open Settings, tap Upgrade… under Plan, then Restore Purchases, signed in to the App Store with the Apple Account that bought it. Packs work on iPhone, iPad and Mac.

What do the packs include?

Free lets you import and browse a collection of any size, with full editing for your first 25 titles. The Starter Pack ($9.99) covers up to 500 titles; the Collector Pack ($19.99) is unlimited and adds Kaleidescape, Kodi and Plex import and Library Sharing. Both are one-time purchases, with no subscription. They’re separate purchases, so there’s no discounted upgrade from Starter to Collector: if your collection is past 500 titles, go straight to the Collector Pack. Prices are US; the App Store shows yours.

It says my purchase couldn’t be verified

Tap Restore Purchases (Settings ▸ Upgrade…), then try again. If it still fails, use Send Feedback so we can check the purchase on our side.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Refunding the Collector Pack also ends Library Sharing for the people you invited.

Adding titles

A barcode isn’t found

FilmVault offers two ways on: take a Photo of Cover and it reads the title for you, or Search by Title. Either way the match is saved, so the next person who scans that disc gets it straight away. If it says That’s a Store Label, scan the barcode printed on the case instead.

Can I import from another app?

Yes: My Movies, CLZ Movies, Blu-ray.com, Letterboxd and Apple’s privacy export, and a purchase-history CSV can fill in dates and prices. Matching avoids duplicates, so re-importing is safe. Importing is unlimited on the free tier.

My Kaleidescape, Kodi or Plex library won’t import

Media-server import is part of the Collector Pack, and it happens only over your local network, so your iPhone, iPad or Mac must be on the same network as the server. If iOS asked for Local Network access and you declined, turn it on in Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Local Network ▸ FilmVault. A large library, especially a big TV library, can take several minutes to import, so give it time. Don’t remove FilmVault from your Plex account’s authorized devices: the app can’t sign in to Plex again afterwards, so it would no longer find your server. If an import never finishes, send diagnostics and tell us the library’s size and what the server runs on. Auto-sync from Devices in Settings can keep artwork, or artwork and new titles, up to date.

Sharing and backups

How do I share my library with family?

With the Collector Pack, open Settings ▸ Library Sharing and invite up to five people, each with Full Access or Read Only. They sign in with their own Apple Account and enter your one-time code; they don’t need a pack. Each person keeps their own ratings and viewings.

Where are my backups, and how do I restore one?

FilmVault saves automatic backups to iCloud Drive ▸ FilmVault ▸ Backups and keeps the most recent ones. Under Backup & Restore in Settings you can Back Up Now, Export Backup… to save a copy anywhere, or Restore from Backup….

Support asked me to send diagnostics

In Settings, turn on Collect Diagnostics, make the problem happen again, then choose Send Diagnostics.
