In short

I have two old Sony receivers: STR DE595 and STR K407. Neither are controlled correctly by the current options in the IR — Staff replied: “Older Sony receivers are finicky both in emitter placement and the need for high retransmission counts as noted in the IR Diagnosis FAQ.”

I have two old Sony receivers: STR DE595 and STR K407. Neither are controlled correctly by the current options in the IR pack. And I no longer have the old remotes, so I cannot train the IP2IR I have. Any help is appreciated.

Roomie Staff 2013-08 · older version

Older Sony receivers are finicky both in emitter placement and the need for high retransmission counts as noted in the IR Diagnosis FAQ. They are probably the most troublesome devices out there for users and that is why we call them out by name in the FAQ because it very common for users to think the codes don't work when in fact it is just the receiver and physical issues or the wrong command set:

Note that the above applies to the first device in your list. Google turns up nothing for the second device so perhaps that's a transcription error.

Thank you.
