Hi - i have a SONY STR-DA2ES a/v receiver and tried to set up roomie using an iTach and and the IR commands. — Staff replied: “It will probably work, but note that Sony receivers (and virtually anything from Sony even today) requires multiple transmissions before accepting an IR command.”

Hi - i have a SONY STR-DA2ES a/v receiver and tried to set up roomie using an iTach and and the IR commands. I can see the commands going to the receiver but i have a feeling that the receiver is too old and isn't supported by roomie. it's about 9 years old. Anyone have experience with this? I tried all the Sony STR AV receiver codes that were in the roomie setup.

It will probably work, but note that Sony receivers (and virtually anything from Sony even today) requires multiple transmissions before accepting an IR command. So you will generally want to increase the Retransmit Count to 2 or 3 for that per the FAQ:
