In short

My Sony TV shows up as a Google Bravia 4K device, not a TV. I have it working as I added it manually and its fine, but i — Staff replied: “It is a bit of an odd naming, basically we're trying to distinguish from the discovery of the TV as a Chromecast device, and the discovery of the TV as a normal Sony TV device. From our perspective, they're unrelated.”

It is a bit of an odd naming, basically we're trying to distinguish from the discovery of the TV as a Chromecast device, and the discovery of the TV as a normal Sony TV device. From our perspective, they're unrelated. There's a Chromecast inside the TV basically and we're offering that as a separate piece. In the case of a Sony TV, since they basically always support Wake on LAN these days, there is probably no value in adding the Chromecast device for it. That's really more useful for cases like nVidia Shield, etc.
