What would be the best way to shutdown a PC using roomie remote. I can use the a command from within the installed XBMC to shut down the PC, but sometimes I close it and I would like to have a consistent solution to whatever state the PC is in.

Is there something like shutdown command? some alternative?

Install MCEControl on the PC, and Roomie can talk to this application natively. Its got a Shutdown comment (or you can link .bat/.cmd files within it)
