I'm having the same issue as it is forcing me to select an older sc model...I can't select input cable as an option as the older remote doesn't offer this input.

These two posts don't sound even remotely related. The first post seems to be a feature request for an XM radio channel listing. We provide all of the commands provided by Pioneer. For XM, that means tuning channels by digit entry, presets, or channel up/down commands.

The second post is likely thinking the VSX is not the same as SC when it actually is. SC is Pioneer's marketing designation for the higher end receivers, but the command set is all identical and auto-discovery properly assigns all current Pioneer receivers to the VSX command set.

The VSX series command set does contain the INPUT SAT CABLE command which, according to Pioneer's SC-65 control documents, is the appropriate choice.
