Override Volume quirk

In short

I've found that unless I have a volume up/down rocker somewhere in the buttons at the bottom of the remote in "Edit Desi — Staff replied: “Yes, that's by design. The hardware buttons effectively press those buttons which is what also allows you to customize the commands that they send.”

Question 2013-06 · older version

I've found that unless I have a volume up/down rocker somewhere in the buttons at the bottom of the remote in "Edit Design", the Override Volume function doesn't work.

If I remove the volume rocker, I can still tap on the volume display and drag the slider up or down but the physical buttons on my phone don't do anything. If I recreate the rocker anywhere in "Edit Design" the fuctionality comes back.

I want to reduce clutter and simply use the hard buttons on my phone or the slider, I have no need for vol+ and vol- buttons. Is this possible?

Yes, that's by design. The hardware buttons effectively press those buttons which is what also allows you to customize the commands that they send.

Thank you.
