Onkyo HDMI-CEC with Samsung TV's?

I haven't tried this yet and wanted to find out if anyone has had success using the HDMI-CEC control via an Onkyo receiv — A member replied: “Anyone successful with this? I just bought the Flex IP2SL and will be setting it up soon (needs to run through some walls), but it would be nice to avoid. I have the Onkyo TX-NR515 and the 2012 Samsung plasma.”

I haven't tried this yet and wanted to find out if anyone has had success using the HDMI-CEC control via an Onkyo receiver (TX-NR515, 616, etc) to power on/off and switch inputs for Samsung TV's.

If you have - I'd love to hear your experience...

Anyone successful with this? I just bought the Flex IP2SL and will be setting it up soon (needs to run through some walls), but it would be nice to avoid. I have the Onkyo TX-NR515 and the 2012 Samsung plasma.

As an aside, anyone have issues with needing to have both monitors on coming out of an Onkyo receiver? My main will only work if the sub is also on. Onkyo tech support was unable to help.

Let's put it this way - I've tried seven ways to sunday to get this to work with various Samsung TV's and...it just doesn't. I've been using iTach Flex units (either IP or WiFi) and a serial cable, but this only works if the TV has a serial input on it (1/8" stereo mini - usually labeled 'Ex-Link'. Or, if not, an IR bug that gets attached in front of the IR sensor on the TV.
