In short

I have a 2010 Sony TV XBR60L900. I’m having trouble with powering it on and off via the network from Roomie. — Staff replied: “Are you sure that model/year is correct? Back then would have been IR units for Sony. And it is safe to say HomeKit wouldn't work on those either as only very modern TVs were ever supported by that.”

Are you sure that model/year is correct? Back then would have been IR units for Sony. And it is safe to say HomeKit wouldn't work on those either as only very modern TVs were ever supported by that. Perhaps you mean AppleTV control works because that is simply IR. If by chance it did have IP, it would be controlled by the Roomie codeset named "Older Models (Pre-2013)". You'd need to verify which port via the Compatibility list etc.
