hi all,

So I am just getting into this program and automation.

I cannot seem to understand how the macOS hub option actually works. I have seen the recommendation that using an iPad is the way to go but I do not have that at my disposal right now,

Every time I navigate away from the app, the activity disappears from the hub (again on macOS). Why is this? I do not want to keep the app active.

Am I not meeting something up right or is this just the way it is?

It sounds like you're looking at the device status window on macOS? That screen can be safely ignored. The items mean "this device is online". It has no relevance whatsoever to your configuration, activities, or anything else.
