Is there a way to launch iTunes on a PC if it's not currently running when "Play iTunes" is envoked? — Staff replied: “As a general best practice, we recommend leaving iTunes running for iTunes Control, and adding it to your Startup folder if it is not already there.”

Beyond that, methods to run iTunes on your PC might include custom commands added to MCE Controller, or any number of other fairly custom alternatives.

I'm using Jtunes that allows itunes to run as a service. Every time my PC boots, Jtunes starts.

There is an interface to stop Jtunes and start Itunes whenever I need Itunes as both cannot run simultaneously.
