would it be possible to provide directv power on/off feedback to enable the creation of a live button? thanks! — Staff replied: “The only way we can really interpret power as feedback from DirecTV is the absence of feedback. Basically "failure" for some calls means "probably off".”

The only way we can really interpret power as feedback from DirecTV is the absence of feedback. Basically "failure" for some calls means "probably off". What if it doesn't mean off though? Because they don't provide power as an actual feedback item, it's a bit sketchy for us to assume it based on secondary factors.
In general, we would push DirecTV towards an upgrade and expansion of their interface to do many different things and power could be one of those. Fortunately they at least provide discrete power commands via IP.
