I second that. I have 5 switches and would love that!

It looks like that box doesn't quite have an API yet:

One could reverse engineer something now and use our custom device DDK to create a device, but waiting a bit sounds like what the manufacturer would recommend.

Any plans to add WeMo to the list of components?

Member 2012-11 · older version

Please support the Belkin WeMo AC control. Note that this device works OUTSIDE the LAN.

Member 2013-01 · older version

Is there a way of integrating this into Roomie rather than using Belkin's App?

Member 2013-01 · older version

Is there any plan to integrate the Belkin WiFi Wemo devices?

Member 2013-02 · older version

hi all, if you're looking for something like wemo i'd suggest you look @ insteon. a little pricy but you can control practically everything in your home with their devices, controllers and roomie...

Member 2013-07 · older version

Integrating IFTTT would be nice so that we can control the wemo.

Member 2013-07 · older version

Looking for support for Wemo as well. They released a new switch today that I'd like integrated.

Member 2013-07 · older version

Please Integrale support for the belkin wemo..

Member 2013-08 · older version

I am considering Insteon and Belkin Wemo. I think the Belkin solution is better for me. They have an API now. Do you have it scheduled for development and adding to Roomie Remote?

Member 2013-08 · older version

I have multiple Belkin WeMo switches that I use to reset equipment in hard to reach areas, and it would be great to have support for this in the app... Do you think it will happen?

Roomie Staff 2013-08 · older version

We have one. Their SDK is useless, but we're likely to add support for the devices directly at some point soon.

Thank you.

Roomie Staff 2013-08 · older version

This support is now live.

Thank you.

Member 2013-08 · older version

Great! Thank you for the quick response on this. This is a great solution over insteon as it does not require an additional ap or master device.

Member 2013-08 · older version

Just bought some Wemo switches and I see that there is now Wemo support in Roomie but I don't see the Wemo switches showing up as devices. Can someone point me to instructions on how to add the Wemo switches to Roomie? Thanks.

Member 2013-12 · older version

I have the wemo insight and the three suggested ports do not work. There is also no autodiscovery.

Roomie Staff 2013-12 · older version

We haven't looked at the new Insight models, the IP Compatibility list identifies the WeMo Switch as supported:

roomieremote.com/ip-compatibility/

As usual, it's trivial to get these things working at the DDK level. Also, we're happy to work with users in support to get a device working. Given we already support Insight's switch cousin, it's likely especially easy in this case.

Thank you.

Member 2013-12 · older version

I'm certainly happy to help! Please let me know what you need from me.

I am also interested in seeing support for the WeMo Insight Switch and WeMo Light Switch. I just bought 2 WeMo Light Switches (in-wall) and 6 WeMo Insight switches. The auto-discovery seems to be going haywire and detecting one of Insight Switches as a Light Switch. The other Light Switch is detected correctly. None of the other devices are auto-discovered. I can add the devices manually, but I believe the auto-discovery is interfering with things and messing up the config, as I can never get everything to consistently work - the various switches fail and come back intermittently, even after assigning static IPs for all devices.

It would be great if we could get support for all WeMo devices in this app, as they have come a long way and work flawlessly when using the WeMo app.

Member 2014-01 · older version

Any updates on this?

Roomie Staff 2014-01 · older version

We got this working with a user in support. Just needs to be added manually and then treat it like a WeMo. Use port 49154 first, then 49153 if that doesn't work. Type is Auxiliary, brand Belkin.

The Insight switches will also auto-detect when 2.1 comes out.

Thank you.

Member 2014-01 · older version

Thanks, I'll give this a shot. Does the same apply for the WeMo Light Switch - both the manual add in version 2.0 and the auto-detect in 2.1?

Roomie Staff 2014-01 · older version

If you contact support, they can verify that auto-discovery will work for that as well in 2.1. Regardless, all of the WeMo switches should work right now with 2.0.4. The only question is auto-discovery.

Thank you.

Member 2014-01 · older version

Belkin changed port 49153 to 49154 for old devices:

My memo switch and lightswitch stop working with roomieremote after wemo app update 1.4.1 (january 8).

Auto-discovery found all switches, but nothing works.

When i add both switches manually with port 49154 (no results with ports 49152 and 49153), all works fine, as a two week ago.

Regards

Oleg

Roomie Staff 2014-01 · older version

To clarify, nobody changed any ports. Belkin WeMo devices randomly hop ports in the range 49153 through about 49156. 90%+ of devices will start and stay on port 49153. Roomie 2.1 automatically recognizes a port hop and adjusts for it. For now, in the rare event your device switches port from 49153 to one of the others, just add it on the new port.

Thank you.
