is there going to be a way to just just the music app on the phone or ipad in roomie as oppose to using itunes. my computer and itunes does not stay on all the time. it would be great to may launch the music app as a activity

Note that you can wake an OS X system using the Wake on LAN feature. So it doesn't actually matter whether your computer is always on as long as the "Wake for network access" option in the Energy Saver control panel is turned on.

We're not sure if the Music app specifically is launchable, but many apps are. This FAQ covers that topic:
